Alternate Names Acid Red 52; Phloxinrhodamine; Lissamine rhodamine B 200; Acid rhodamine B; Kiton rhodamine B; Erio Acid Red AB
Application Notes Sulforhodamine B is used as a fluorescent dye to quantify cellular proteins in cultured cells. Can be used as a protein tag - by sulfamido condensation with a proteinaceous substrate containing a primary amine function. Sulforhodamine B will fluoresce red; because of its red fluorescence, it can be used in conjuction with fluorescein isothiocyanate (which fluoresces yellowish-green).
